About Emma

Why I Do This Work

I decided to pursue clinical social work after navigating my own personal struggles with anxiety and depression as a young adult. I have been on the other side of the chair in therapy, and I know how much courage it takes to show up week after week to work on yourself.

My primary specialization is chronic illness and medical trauma support. I myself am a “zebra” and live with a rare medical condition. While working towards clinical licensure after graduate school, I realized that there is a huge gap in care for those living with chronic illness and chronic pain. Navigating the healthcare system, constantly having to advocate for yourself, living through painful and traumatic experiences, and coming to terms with a diagnosis, whether one you were born with or recently received, are all incredibly stressful- but that’s often where medical support ends. You deserve to live your life beyond your diagnosis, because you are more than your diagnosis.

It is my priority and passion that all of my clients feel supported, valued, and heard every time they leave session. I do not take it lightly when someone chooses to work with me in their mental health journey.
